JOSIE PRENDERGAST | HOME SERIES

They say that “home is where your story begins”. Josie Prendergast’s began in the Philippines, on the little island of Siargao. Her love of the ocean and surfing was born on a cluster of islands that sit right between the North Pacific and Indian Ocean.

Josie took us home to her roots. She showed us around, we explored her favorite waves and met her family and friends. Being able to explore one of our athletes homes truly allows us to know more about them and what made them who they are are. Where one is r o o t e d is where a piece of their h e a r t resides. So much of Josie's heart is here, and it is clearly shown through the smile that was on her face during the whole trip.

We asked Josie to recap the trip and what H O M E is to her, here are her thoughts~

"I have been fortunate enough to be raised next to the ocean and have had the opportunity to come back and reconnect with the island and our family when I can. There are no words that illustrate the love I have for my family and with that being said majority of them live in the Philippines. My love for this island and the incredible people will never fade, never die. Siargao makes my heart s i n g and fills it full of l o v e. I cannot express how special this place is to me; it is o t h e r w o r l d l y. It was incredibly special to me that Billabong were able to meet and share time with the people who mean so much to me. Reflecting on that special week, so many amazing memories were created and shared."- Josie Prendergast

Seeing your eyes light up as you took in all the sweet and simple moments there shared more of your heart than we have ever seen. We will carry this trip dearly in our hearts.
